I’m so proud of BLUSH! They opened for the Black Eyed Peas in Manila.
In case you don’t know, BLUSH is a group of Asian musicians who are really beginning to make it big. Not only are they talented, beautiful, and intelligent young women, but they really reach out to their communities and stay rooted in who they are and where they came from. Check out their interview with Channel APA here:
Leading the band with his off-the-cuff comedy and heartfelt delivery, Chiang and the BROTS bring charm to their earnest performances, energetic arrangements, and big harmonies. Transforming any space into a joyful one, the band has performed at many events throughout Los Angeles and in the Asian American community such as the Occidental for the Asian Pacific Islander Alliance kick off and the Soulstyce Hip Hop Festival. They are excited to be performing in front of their largest audience yet and would very much like to meet you.
Andrew Chiang and the BROTS will be at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on November 5th. Get a chance to watch this swooner compete at Kollaboration. (Tickets here)

The description about the band says:
A blush is an emotional sensation with a physical reaction, most notably to anticipation, excitement or love. and for the new group Blush - comprised of Victoria, Natsuko, Angeli, Ji Hae and Alisha - the anticipation is huge, the excitement is genuine and the love is already spreading around the world. The music of Blush is edgy and fun with a unique spin, delivered by five gifted girls on a mission. The members are all Asian, and all five have world-class talents and charm. What you’re feeling is Blush.
The proof is in the music. Tracks on their forthcoming debut album come from an unprecedented global roster of award-winning hit songwriters and producers, including Tal Herzberg (The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga), electronic music icon Wolverine (Britney Spears), top remixer Sander Kleinenberg (Janet Jackson, Daft Punk), acclaimed grime/house DJ Alex Guadino and progressive house star Morgan Page (Katy Perry, Deadmau5, Madonna). Blush’s debut single “Undivided” - Produced by Darrell Brown (Keith Urban, Bon Jovi) and Steve Schnur (Veteran A&R executive and producer of over 150 soundtrack albums, including tracks by Florence + The Machine and Busta Rhymes) and mixed by Manny Marroquin (Pink, Rihanna) - showcases each girl’s breakout vocals and energy. It’s an irresistible anthem to solidarity and devotion that heralds the arrival of a group ready to take the world stage and make it feel something new. Something electric. And absolutely “Undivided”.
I can tell you that after listening to “Undivided” and watching the music video, I was very impressed. Not to worry though, for those of you who may compare the group to the Pussycat Dolls. Angeli (the main singer on “Undivided”) is not the lead singer, only the featured one for that track. It’s good stuff. Keep an eye on this one, everyone!
